At a rain-soaked Ascot Enable won very convincingly against the older horses, which included Jack Hobbs, Ulysses, and last year’s winner of the King George and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, Highland Reel, on Saturday 29th July. She has now won her group 1 races on good, good to firm and soft goings.

Enable has now won four out of her five races this year – three group 1s including both the English and Irish Oaks taking her earnings to over £1 million.

Frankie Dettori, who rode her again had to lose 7 lbs in 7 days to make the weight of 8 stone 7lbs. This was Frankie’s fifth win of the this most prestigious race.

The weighing platform, at John Gosden’s Clarehaven Stables, is situated within easy reach of all the yards, so that regular weighing is part of a horse’s life.
